KIDS COMMUNITY TEACHERS

Position Description

  • Serve at (at least) one gathering per month in the classroom, showing up 15 minutes early to prepare and be ready to welcome kids.
  • Be willing to fill in for teachers who may be sick or on vacation, flexible to switch schedules if possible, but mostly committed to serving at the same gathering each month.
  • Create lesson ideas and teaching points according to the theme/story/ideas given by the director for the gathering that you teach at.
  • Develop relationships with the kids and communicate with them throughout the month both in the classroom and upstairs in gatherings.
  • Spend ½ to 1 hour during the week you are scheduled to teach:  prepare for your lesson, pray for your kids and for the stories and words you will share,  connect with your Team Leader as needed.
  • On the week you are teaching, connect with parents and families before and after class as needed. Direct any questions from parents to the director or team leader.
  • All Kids Community Teacher training in the fall and optional social events throughout the year with your classroom team and the Kids Community team at large.

Expectations

If you love being with kids and desire for them to learn more about God while having a ton of fun, this is the role for you! This will be a commitment of at least 3 hours per month as we ask all teachers to be scheduled at at least one gathering per month and prepare for your lesson for ½ - 1 hour during the week before you teach.
