Position Description
- Serve at (at least) one gathering per month in the classroom, showing up 15 minutes early to help the teacher prepare and be ready to welcome kids.
- Assist the teacher as needed throughout the gathering.
- Develop relationships with the kids and communicate with them throughout the month both in the classroom and upstairs in gatherings.
- On the week you are helping, connect with parents and families before and after class as needed. Direct any questions from parents to the director or team leader.
- All Kids Community Teacher training in the fall and optional social events throughout the year with your classroom team and the Kids Community team at large.
Expectations
If you love being with kids but don’t have a lot of extra time to plan a lesson, this is the place for you. You will get to know the teacher you are matched with and will assist as needs arise. This might mean being a buddy to one child or helping with all of the kids. We would love helpers to commit to 2 gatherings per month, knowing you just need to show up ready to care for and have fun with the kids in the class.
