PRAYER FOR OUR WORLD

Hold the world like an eternal flame that never goes out.

That shines light through every street corner, every window, and that every person is able to feel its warmth.

Help the world find its light, so that it shines through their dark moments and helps them find their way home.

PRAYER FOR OUR COMMUNITY

Hold our community like a warm hug. The type of hug that embraces you after a long journey or when you’re receiving tough news.

As our community traverses the wilderness, may the people melt into your arms and be able to let go of the battles they face.

PRAYER FOR OUR LIVES

Hold our lives like a dance.

The dance floor of our lives can feel unbalanced, broken, or non-existent.

Your hand is there to twirl us back in at a moment’s notice. We don’t need to know the steps or have it all figured out.

May you remind us that you’re there to guide us, and that you’ll be there to catch us if we fall.

Once a month, we invite a member of our community to write and share prayers for the world, our community, and our lives during the service. In between, the body sings a refrain in spiritual agreement of the prayers. The goal is to hear from a diversity of voices in this space (in age, gender, culture, etc), and to spark creativity and encouragement in your own prayer life. Email Katherine if you’re interested in sharing your prayers with the community.
