AFFINITY GROUPS

At Awaken we have what we call Affinity Groups. These are groups of people who gather together because they share a similar interest, stage-of-life, or values. A regular commitment to the group is not asked for as is the case with life groups. As you align with a shared affinity, you are welcome to participate in these groups. View the calendar for individual events that are planned for these groups, or you can reach out to the contact person(s).

20 and 30 Somethings

If you are in your 20's or 30's and desiring to connect with other people at Awaken in the same life stage - this group is for you. Monthly events are planned to share conversation and connect over a shared interest.

Queer Community Group

This group is for those who identify as LGBTQIA+ This group desires to create a community where we can all be welcomed and find a home. It is a safe space to unpack our experiences with church, faith and our whole selves. This group gathers twice a month. Once for a coffee on a Saturday morning and once for lunch after a Sunday service.

Second Half of Life

 This group is for those who have surpassed midlife and identify in the Second Half of Life. Some are retired, some are not. Some are empty-nesters, some are not. Some have grandchildren, some do not. Yet most receive some kind of senior discount at a movie theater, Goodwill, or SilverSneakers. This group gathers several times a year for service, mission, spiritual growth and fun! Contact Krista to connect and for more information.

Stay at Home Parents

Being a stay-at-home parent can feel like you're living on an island. If you would like to connect and meet other parents who can relate, this is the group for you. The group meets once a month.

Board Game Group

Enjoy playing board games? At this event, all types of games are played - strategy, abstract, party, kids and family. All are welcome who enjoy playing board games and who are interested in connecting with others at Awaken.

Moms of Littles

If you’re a mom with infants or toddlers come join other moms in the Awaken nursery for support and conversation. No agenda other than being in community with others who understand life with little ones! This group usually meets every month from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Awaken. Registration is required.

Mondays with Micah

This is for men, or those who identify as male, to join Pastor Micah for breakfast, conversation and a chance to get to know other men from Awaken. They meet from 7:00am to 8:30am twice a month.
The 2nd Monday at Turtle Bread on 34th Ave in Minneapolis.
The 4th Monday at Day by Day Cafe in St. Paul.
